What is your primary sport?

Baseball

How would you describe your strengths as an athlete? What makes you different and unique from your competitors?

Mental toughness and work ethic has always been one of my biggest strengths. I was raised around professional baseball and was able to learn from many great pro baseball players, coaches, and scouts. I always study the game to have a Baseball IQ.

Tell us about a specific time you encountered a major obstacle and thoroughly describe how you overcame it.

I tore my ACL in football practice in September of my Junior year. After having surgery in October, I worked extremely hard to rehab and bounce back for baseball season. In 4 months I was on the field and didn’t miss one day of baseball season. Although it was painful, I played the entire season with a knee brace on. I ended up hitting a walk-off RBI single with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th to win the semifinals 1-0. We went on to win the State Championship the next day.

Explain in detail, your definition of success?

My definition of success is inspiring others to work hard, live happy, and stay humble.

How would you respond to this statement: “Leaders are born NOT built”

Leaders don’t tell others what to do, they show others how to do it. Lead by example!

If you gave advice to a young athlete, what is the GREATEST lesson you would share from your sports experience?

The advice I would share would be a quote I once heard from Barry Bonds, “You will never enjoy success until you can learn to quickly forget your failures.” When I stopped worrying about what others thought, the game got easy and a lot more fun. Just go out and enjoy the game. I live by 3 H’s (Happy, Hustle, & Humble)
