Most young athletes pick a sport eventually. Fifi Garcia keeps winning in several of them, and soccer is starting to look like the one that will take her furthest.

Garcia, born in 2012, plays forward and midfield for the So Cal Blues in the ECNL, one of the top girls club leagues in the country. She is a PUMA-sponsored athlete. And before she turned 12, Sports Illustrated Kids named her its SportsKid of the Year.

Quick answer: Who is Fifi Garcia?

Fifi Garcia is a 2012-born forward and midfielder for the So Cal Blues ECNL team, a PUMA-sponsored athlete and the 2023 Sports Illustrated Kids SportsKid of the Year. Recruiting site Prep Soccer has called her the player with the highest ceiling in her class. She also plays softball and runs track, and she shares her journey with more than 10,000 Instagram followers as @feifabiola.

Key takeaways

  • SI Kids named her its 2023 SportsKid of the Year at age 11 after titles in soccer, futsal, track and softball.
  • She was MVP of the ECNL San Diego Spotlight Game in fall 2025, per SoccerWire.
  • In July 2026 she posted that her hat trick sent the So Cal Blues 2012 team to the ECNL national final four.
  • She has posted about training opportunities with Angel City FC and Bay FC, and a U.S. Youth National Team camp in September 2026.
  • She is a PUMA athlete and still plays softball and runs track.

Who is Fifi Garcia?

Her full name is Fei Fabiola Garcia, and her Instagram bio adds a nickname, Fei Fei. Prep Soccer lists her as a 5-foot-4 forward and midfielder in the Class of 2030 who plays club soccer for the So Cal Blues ECNL program.

Her bio lists three sports: soccer with the Blues, track with the Long Beach Sprinters and softball with the Corona Angels. Soccer is the one she has called her favorite. “I really have the most fun with it,” she told SI Kids in 2023. “It’s a nonstop game.”

Why Fifi Garcia was SI Kids’ SportsKid of the Year

In November 2023, Sports Illustrated Kids named her its SportsKid of the Year, an award whose past winners include basketball star JuJu Watkins. The magazine pointed to a year that looked like several athletes’ careers combined:

  • Soccer: She helped her club team win its age group at the Surf Cup in San Diego.
  • Futsal: She won two national futsal titles.
  • Track: She won the 400 meters at the AAU West Coast Nationals in 1:05.30 and has medaled in the 100, 200 and 800.
  • Softball: Her team reached the semifinals of the Alliance Fastpitch National Championships.

Her coaches noticed. One of them, Rob Rennie, told SI Kids, “She’s like an assassin, really.” And she set a big goal: to become a two-sport star like her favorite athlete, Bo Jackson, by playing soccer and softball at UCLA.

How good is Fifi Garcia at soccer?

Good enough that national recruiting coverage has followed her since she was 13. At the ECNL San Diego national event in fall 2025, SoccerWire reported that she led the So Cal Blues 2012 team to a 3-0-0 record and a 21-1 goal differential and earned MVP honors in the event’s Spotlight Game.

Prep Soccer has been even more direct. Its national analyst JR Eskilson has called her the player with the highest ceiling in her class and wrote that she “should continue to be among the best in the country in her position.” At the Prep Soccer Girls SoCal ID Camp in summer 2026, the site’s scouting report said she was the fastest player at the event, ranked first in two speed tests and scored three goals across two games. “She’s a top level talent who showed why during the Prep Soccer ID Camp,” Eskilson wrote.

The results kept coming in 2026. In July, the Blues 2012 team reached the ECNL national Elite Eight, and she posted that her hat trick in a 3-1 win sent them to the final four.

Training with pro clubs and Team USA

Her level has started to open doors usually reserved for older players. Prep Soccer’s scouts noted that she had been invited to train with Angel City FC, the NWSL club in Los Angeles, and in October 2026 she posted that she was “so excited to be back at ACFC.” In July 2026 she shared that she had been invited to first-team training at Bay FC, writing that she was “very honored and grateful for the opportunity.”

Still a three-sport athlete

Soccer hasn’t pushed the other sports out. In July 2026, between ECNL playoff games, she was also posting softball highlights: an inside-the-park grand slam and a catch where she went up at the fence to take away a home run. Her Instagram bio still lists her as a Long Beach Sprinters track athlete with 11 All-American honors.

A PUMA athlete at 14

Garcia is sponsored by PUMA, and her feed reads like a training log: early sessions, new boots before national team camp, and games where she scores “couple goals” and moves on. In August 2026 she also coached her first private lesson, passing her skills on to younger players.

What’s next for Fifi Garcia?

She is only 14, and the path from here is long. But she has already won a national award most athletes never get, earned a PUMA sponsorship, trained around NWSL clubs and been called into a youth national team environment. Her caption on one recent post sums up how she sees it: “every wall is a Door.”
