Another Banner Week of Offers for California’s Best HS Football Players
The summer is getting especially hot for some of California’s best high school football players. As the summer jogs down June’s backstretch and prepares for a heated July, some of the best players in talent-rich California were blessed with scholarship offers.
For some, it was their first offer, the reward for all their hard work and dedication to a process. For others, the week brought more offers to add to their ever-growing lists. Here’s a look at those handed out this week.
Eoghan Kerry – UCLA
Malachi Riley – UCLA
After picking up a UNLV offer last week, Riley, a wide receiver from Corona Centennial HS in the Class of 2023, received two offers this week. The first came from UCLA and the second came on Thursday from Colorado.
Davon Banks – Washington
San Jacinto HS defensive back Davon Banks is the rare prospect that graduates high school and then receives his first offer, but that is exactly what happened.
A pair of injuries claimed Banks junior season and the coronavirus shortened his senior year. It wasn’t until this week that the Class of ’21 Banks received his first scholarship offer from Washington.
Walker Lyons – Stanford
Marcellus Williams – Ohio State
Michael Buckley – New Mexico
Santa Margarita Catholic WR Michael Buckley was a first-team All-Trinity League selection. He picked up a preferred walk-on offer from New Mexico at the end of last week. He also committed to the Lobos this week.
